The Corner View – October 2016

As I reflect back ovjay-zimmerer the last 12 months, 5776 was a particularly significant year for The Reutlinger, with four particularly important goals having been met.

First, we made some organizational changes that will enhance even further the level of care and professionalism that have been cornerstones of the Community. In July, Mary Goldhoff joined us as our new Administrator, replacing Nelson Rodriguez, who accepted a position at another residential care facility. In September, Yana Shteinberg was hired as the new Assistant Living Director. Also in September, we promoted Kulwinder Bhatia, RN to our Chief Nursing Officer. She formerly served as our Director of Nursing. Please join me in welcoming these three accomplished professionals to The Reutlinger in their respective leadership positions.

Second, after five years of planning and construction, residents and officials at The Reutlinger Community celebrated the landmark completion of an extraordinary renovation project. The celebration honored two families – one for the Schiff Center for Life and one for the Polse Family Pavilion – in recognition of these two benefactors whose generosity helped turn the vision of the renovation project into a reality. This remarkable renovation resulted in nearly every aspect of the community’s common physical space being reconfigured, reconstructed or repurposed to meet the needs of the community’s senior residents today as well as into the future.

Our admittance into this partnership is due to The Reutlinger’s “demonstrable quality outcomes defined by safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and evidenced-based, professional standards of care.”

And, finally, the redesign of our website. Our new site is rebuilt from the ground up to run more smoothly on cell phones and tablets as well as desktop and laptop computers. We’ve also added a plethora of photos, videos, artwork, articles and more to better share our lives, accomplishments, and stories with our friends who’ve known us for years and those we’ve yet to meet.

Accomplishing these goals does not mean by any means that we are done. Rather, these successes provide the basis for raising the bar even higher for 5777, for the betterment of our residents and family members, staff, and patrons.

Best wishes for a happy, healthy and sweet New Year to the entire Reutlinger Community.
