Already in ancient times, long before the rise of Islam in the seventh century CE, Diasporan Jews fleeing adverse conditions in the lowlands of North Africa, West Asia and the Caucasus fled to more remote but safer escarpments.
This series of lecture/power point presentations will deal with the various origins and theories of these Jewish tribes and aspects of their history, ethnology, and folk traditions.
