Leaders of Distinction

From Generation to Generation honoring Jan and Randy Kessler.

Honorees – Jan & Randy Kessler – The Kessler family’s longtime steadfast devotion to Jewish organizations, a vibrant Jewish community and thousands of Jewish seniors and their families in the East Bay is exemplary. Generations of lives have been touched since 1950. The Home for Jewish Parents opened under their energetic leadership, and along with other hardworking visionary community leaders, a Jewish senior residence became a reality. Carrying on the deep commitment of Alice and Leslie Kessler, z”l, are Jan, Randy and their two children, Gina (Chris) and Drew (Jessica). Proudly, the Kessler legacy continues from generation to generation with great-grandchildren, Ember and Apollo.

Keynote Speaker – Shelley Berkley, CEO & Senior Provost, Touro University, Western Division. Shelley oversees two medical schools, in California and Nevada, as well as graduate programs in Nursing, Pharmacy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistants, Public Health and Education. She served the State of Nevada as an assemblywoman, member of the University Board of Regents and in the U.S. House of Representatives for seven terms, and was the first Jewish person and woman to serve the District. Shelley’s dedication to Israel, Jewish organizations, Women’s, Veterans’, Education and Environmental issues inspire her involvement in the Jewish community. This continues today through her illustrious career and with her husband, Dr. Larry, children, Max, Sam, David, and Stephanie.
